Monthly Events (Level D) Come On, Try it!
Suitable for all - kids, families, beginner adults, runners, experienced orienteers.
A minimum of one short easy course and one longer more difficult course - friendly club members will be on hand to help and advise.
See the British Orienteering Newcomer's Guide for more general information.
You don't need to be a member to participate, but please consider joining if you come to our events regularly.
Individuals who may be interested in joining a club are insured for a maximum of 3 initial “taster” sessions. For indemnity to apply it is essential that the club records their name, address and dates of attendance. These details must be retained as they may be called upon in the event of a claim. To be insured, the individual must be a member of British Orienteering from their 4th visit.
Planning/Organising: these events don't run themselves! We have a mentor system in place if you want to give it a go but aren't sure what to do. Don't be shy - just ask!!
Everyone welcome at these informal training events!
We use a variety of venues over the year. Suitable for beginners and experienced orienteers alike - children under 16 need to be supervised. Details of each session, such as parking, theme for the night etc will be put on the website a few days prior to the date advertised. Start time usually 7pm, with tea/coffee and cake afterwards (if venue suitable). Cost is £2 unless stated otherwise. Bring a torch (in the winter months), a compass if you have one, and please dress appropriately for the weather if we are outdoors.
COME AND GIVE IT A GO - IT'S FUN & SOCIABLE!
