New to orienteering?
Dictionary definition:
"A cross-country race in which competitors use a map and compass to find their way through unfamiliar territory"
That's a start, but there's more to it than that - Border Liners Orienteering Club runs a series of events throughout the year, suitable for all ages and abilities, in great locations, in North and East Cumbria, so come along and give it a go - you don't need to be a member.
There are always friendly club members willing to offer help and advice. Improve your fitness, enjoy the views, indulge your competitive streak!
Events that are particularly suitable for beginners and young families will be highlighted. These are usually small, informal meetings with two courses on offer. A short course of around 2 or 3k, and a longer hard course for advanced orienteers.
This is a sport the whole family can participate in.
