Additional information:

Miltonrigg is a small Woodland Trust Wood. It is a generally open and runnable wood with a good path network. Underfoot the wood can be quite wet but at present the undergrowth does not impede running speed, however there are some low brambles (not like Coombs but still scratchy). Many of the mapped thickets are dead Rhododendron patches - they are still very difficult to get across (but no longer easy to see). The area also has many shallow ditches too numerous to map.

There will be 2 starts, The Long (Green) and Short (Short Green) courses go from the Far Start and the Novice from the Near Start. The Far Start is about 550m from registration along a minor road, crossing the railway at a level crossing, please walk on the right and take care. Traffic is generally light but can be travelling quickly. The Near Start is about 300m from registration along forest tracks.

The Courses from the Far Start will cross the railway line (using a public footpath), please obey the instructions of the marshal, there are controls either side of the crossing make sure you punch at both - this will be timed out in the final results but not your split times.

There is a single finish for all courses about 50m from Registration/Download. Please make sure you download, even if you have not completed your course.

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the event organiser. Runners must download even if they retire so we can be sure everyone is back and that we do not need to start a search and rescue. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
