Sunday 1st March - an opportunity for BL juniors to take part in local Heats for the Yvette Baker Trophy – beginners and experienced juniors welcome to compete.

The Yvette Baker Trophy is a junior event for clubs in England and Wales. It is named after Britain’s first World Champion, Yvette Baker, who won Gold in the short distance in Scotland in 1999.

The event is aimed at juniors of all abilities from classes M/W18 and under. Border Liners will be entering the North East Heats for the Yvette Baker Shield as we qualify as a small club. The Heats will be held at Slaley Hall Estate near Hexham, Northumberland and are being organised by our lovely neighbouring club, NATO (Newcastle and Tyneside Orienteers). We need juniors of all abilities and ages to enter colour classes from Yellow, Orange, Light Green and Green. Pairs are permitted to enter on the Yellow course but shadowing of juniors is strictly not allowed for this competition.
